After the Covid-19 situation became normal after October, the state government had allowed the casinos to open from November. The government had also issued an operating procedure for all the casinos which mandated them to follow the rules mentioned under the standard operations. These rules cover all the necessary precautions that are mandatory to follow in times of pandemic.
The government has instructed the casinos to prohibit people from entering the casinos without wearing masks. The government has also stressed the sanitizers and temperature checks while entering the casino premises. Also, the casinos are not allowed to let more than 50’% capacity to enter the casino premises.
The operating procedure also talked about a few other things such as handbags and other things to be sanitized before entering the premises, hand sanitizers should be placed at several casino tables to ensure that the players sanitize their hands regularly. The state authorities also told that the casinos need to make seating arrangements while keeping social distancing in mind. The casinos necessarily need to follow all these protocols to be able to run freely in times of pandemic. Moreover, the casino authorities need to take special care of the cleanliness of the casino premises along with disinfecting the premises regularly.
The guidelines tell that the casino operators need to avoid rush and accumulation of people near the cashier and reception area and should impose strict social distancing between people. The casinos are also required to encourage check-ins without any contact and should introduce digital menus to avoid contact. The rules also state that the casino operators also need to be updated about the health protocols that the government lays down from time to time.
The pandemic situation forced gambling lovers and professional players to stay away from casinos. However, after a few months of complete shutdown, the casinos are back into operation and people can finally get a chance to gamble on their favorite table. The government is still trying to avoid any complications and thus has introduced several protocols for the smooth operation of casinos once again.
The casino authorities can take a breath of relief as finally they can head on to generate revenue once again but they also need to be aware of certain health advisory measures that have been released by the State Government of Goa. After all, health is the topmost priority.
